AptaFund Login Help AptaFund uses a system called Terminal Services from Microsoft in order for you to run our software. Terminal Services is a widely used platform, and thus there is no need for special configuration or custom software on your computer. In order for your computer to be able to connect to AptaFund, you will need to install the Terminal Services Client. This client is easily installed on your computer using what is called an ActiveX Control. The ActiveX Control is accessed by your Internet Explorer browser to connect to the AptaFund servers. In addition, we use a second product called Simplify Printing to enhance printing from AptaFund. This program is also easily installed using an ActiveX Control. Most computers are setup to handle the ActiveX installation without any problems; however, if the installation is not working for you, please continue with the following instructions:The first time you visit the AptaFund Login Page, you
will be prompted to install the Simplify Printing ActiveX Control from Tricerat and the Remote Desktop
ActiveX Control from Microsoft.  If your "Connect button" is not active, meaning you are unable to click it - then the ActiveX Controls have not yet been installed on your computer.   These programs must be first processed by Internet Explorer. Wait a few seconds and a prompt at the top if the Internet Explorer window will be displayed indicating that an ActiveX Control is waiting to be installed. **If the prompt does not show up, please look at the possible causes...  Depending on your Operating System and Internet Explorer version, click the ActiveX Prompt to install, as illustrated. Choose Install ActiveX Control.  The prompt for older Internet Explorer versions may look like this. Choose Yes.  The first of TWO installation messages displayed is the Simplify Printing client, click Install to proceed.  Click Finish to complete the Simplify Printing installation, then WAIT for the RDP client installation message to appear...  Click Install to proceed.  After the RPD client installs, you are all ready to connect to AptaFund. NOTE: Once the programs are installed, you should not need to repeat this process!  You should now be able to click the Connect button, and you should then see the login screen. NOTE: If you are logged into AptaFund and you minimize your AptaFund session, you may notice a "blank" Internet Explorer window. Please do not close this window, as this will log you off of AptaFund and return you to the AptaFund Login Page. Once logged in, you can minimize your AptaFund session by clicking the minimize button on the yellow bar at the top of the screen.
Possible causes why you are unable to install the ActiveX Control or connect: 1) You do not have administrative privileges for the computer you are using. In order to install the ActiveX control for the first time, you must have local privileges on the computer that allow for software installation. Example, an "Administrator" or "Power User" - This applies to the following operating systems: Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP Professional. Once the ActiveX control is installed, these privileges are no longer required to run AptaFund. 2) Internet Explorer is setup to prevent installation of ActiveX controls. To allow Internet Explorer to install ActiveX controls from AptaFund, you must add "*.aptafund.com" to your list of trusted sites. This can be found under the "Tools" menu > "Internet Options" > "Security" tab. 3) You are not using a compatible version of Internet Explorer for Windows. Please make sure you are using IE 5.5 or greater for Windows. 4) If after the Active Control installs, you are still unable to connect... It is possible that your network is blocking the TCP port that allows Terminal Services.
